The Vision

The Daily Art & Education Center (DAE Center) transforms a 6.6-acre pasture gifted by Dr. Harold Daily into Simonton’s living room, classroom, and playground. Here, neighbors of every age and ability will discover nature trails, art studios, ballfields, and Helen’s Garden—spaces that celebrate our heritage while opening doors to new opportunity. Together, we’re proving that a small town with a big heart can build something extraordinary for generations to come.

Legacy & Land

Rooted in a Remarkable Gift

In 2016 Dr. Daily donated 77 acres for Abe & Lizzie Daily Park so families could “have a place to grow, play, and learn.” He reserved the adjoining 6.6 acres for a future community center—now coming to life as the DAE Center. This project honors his parents, his love of rural Simonton, and his belief that when people gather around a shared dream, good things happen.

Four Pillars of Impact

  1. Education – From STEM clubs to adult literacy.

  2. Recreation – Leagues, camps, and open-play days.

  3. Culture – Festivals, exhibits, and performances that mirror our diverse region.

  4. Environment – Gardens, conservation workshops, Brazos-river stewardship.

These pillars keep the Center responsive to local needs today and the possibilities of tomorrow.
